About The Q Awards
Unleash your creative potential in the Q AwardsIf you’re aged 16-18, live in Tauranga or the Western Bay and you have a passion for creativity, then you need to enter the Q Awards.
From Graphic, to Moving Image, Photography, Architectural and Product, we want entries that represent your take on your chosen creative discipline and are also commercially relevant. But there’s more. The work in these categories will come under the scrutiny of industry judges, whilst the public will select the People’s Choice.
The incentive for you? Apart from the chance to win great prizes, you’ll have work to add to your portfolio, which in time should prove to be invaluable for your employment prospects in the creative industries.

Become a Q Awards sponsor
Help a young person succeed in the creative industriesThe Q Awards are a great opportunity for you to support young people in Tauranga, Whakatāne and the Western Bay. By becoming a Q Awards sponsor, you will be helping an award winner further their career in the creative industries.
The difference you’ll make to supporting a young person will be significant. Thanks to our sponsors in the 2025 awards, prize winners received financial support for equipment needed to further their creative careers. We also had the amazing prize of an internship for a prize winner, which is something we would love to repeat as a prize this year.
As a sponsor, you’ll receive significant exposure on this website, our social channels, and during the awards evening (which you’ll be invited to).
If you’d like to find out more about the sponsorship opportunities available in the 2026 Q Awards, simply send us a message and we’ll take it from there.
Launch your design career with the Q Awards
“I established the Q Awards to help young designers in Tauranga and the Western Bay because I know how powerful and inspiring great design is. I also know how difficult it can be for young designers to get an opportunity to express their creativity in a commercial setting.
The Q Awards can change that by providing our extraordinarily talented young designers the chance to either enter the workforce directly through an internship, or through winning one of the many other prestigious prizes our supporters have kindly donated.
Most importantly, every entrant will have their work scrutinised by design community leaders who know exactly what is required in a commercial environment. I wish you every encouragement in your Q Awards entry and every success in your design career.”
